Mary Newsom has a post asking her readers for their picks for best places to stand in Charlotte.  My favorite place ever since the first time I drove by Queens University in 1982 remains anywhere on Stanford Place. The way the trees arch over the street there has always reminded me of a quiet, peaceful, Gothic cathedral.  It would appear that the drought of the past few years may have diminished the foliage at the time that Google took its Street View photo, but I suspect the trees are back in their full glory this year!
