Congratulations are in order to Cleave, who received word today that he has been accepted at Princeton Theological Seminary. Fasten your seatbelt, Cleave ... you're in for a bumpy ride!
He plans to begin in the fall rather than start "Greek School" over the summer. Personally, I am glad I started in the summer when I went to Columbia Theological Seminary. Although it amounts to cramming a year of Greek into eight weeks, it accomplishes a couple of things. First, it bonds you to the people with whom you'll be living and working for the next three years, much like a boot camp of sorts. The second plus is that the intense focus on a single subject helped me retain the language better. I wish I'd been able to study Hebrew in that manner because I might actually still be able to read it if I had.
But hey, none of it is insurmountable, and I wish Cleave every success and blessing as he undertakes this new challenge!
