I found this on this site. I thought it might set the tone for the philosophy part of our discussion and why it's so convoluted. It also will explain why I might be awhile writing it up! :)

Unfortunately, it leaves out the most influential analytic philosopher of the second half of the 20th Century, David Lewis. Kripke, Searle, and Nozick are a big deal, but they pale compared to the metaphysics revolution (or really resurrection) spearheaded by Lewis. (Kripke wouldn't have if he hadn't left academia for so long, but he unfortunately did.)
