North Meets South

Carolina, that is! I had the pleasure today of having lunch with Rob Williams of Orangejack Blog. Rob grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, a little less than two hours from here and graduated from Clemson University. He and his wife, Patricia, are on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ in Orlando, Florida. (It's always hard when the brethren must suffer for Jesus.) Rob was up here in part on business and in part to visit his grandmothers. We talked about blogging in general and some of the acquaintances we've made online. I have met people in person with whom I've chatted on AOL, but this was the first time for both of us that we'd met another blogger for the first time face to face without having known them before.

This truly is a marvelous time to be alive. In addition to meeting Rob, I found out that his uncle, Bill Hayes, is a fellow PCUSA minister and alumnus of Columbia Seminary. Bill has a series of posts about the recent Colloquium at Columbia. I considered going, but time would not allow with everything else going on this week at work and home.

More on the week's festivities later! :)

Hey -- I knew there was something I liked about you! :) At least you know where you can read about the Colloquium! (http://revbill.blogspot.com/2005/04/columbia-theological-seminary.html)
